The Port Rowing varsity and novice rowing teams traveled to Saratoga Springs, NY, for their final race of the spring season to compete in the New York State High School Rowing Championships on May 13-15 and had an impressive showing by bringing home eight club medals.
Leading the way for the Vikings were the Novice teams, taking home four medals including a Gold and Silver medal in the Boys Freshman 4+ category (1st and 3rd overall), a Silver medal in the boys Novice 8+ event (3rd overall), as well as a Bronze medal in the Girls Freshman 8+ event (7th overall). The Port Rowing club team represents high schools throughout the North Shore of Long Island. Rowers come from Roslyn, Syosset, Great Neck South, Solomon Schechter, Long Island School for the Gifted, St. Mary’s and North Shore High School as well as Schreiber High School.
