A 55-year-old Medford man was killed and a second man was injured in Rocky Point on Tuesday morning.
Suffolk County police said Sean Carpenter, 25, of Medford, was driving a Subaru Outback southbound on County Road 21 when his vehicle crossed into the opposite lanes of traffic and struck a northbound Nissan Sentra, driven by Jose Amaya at 5:50 a.m.
Amaya was pronounced dead at the scene. Carpenter was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Seventh Squad detectives impounded the vehicles, are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the crash to call them at 631-852-8752.
