Public Relations Professionals of Long Island (PRPLI), the largest and most-established organization for PR and communications professionals in the region, recently announced the appointment of officers and members to its board of directors for the 2016-17 year.
Kali Chan, re-elected to a second term is PRPLI’s current president and director of media relations for Adelphi University. She officially announced the board appointments during the organization’s annual membership dinner. Officer appointments included Donna Rivera-Downey, chief marketing and communications officer for the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, as executive vice president; Jessica Bellucci, vice president of communications, Tribune Broadcasting, as first vice president; Valerie Esposito, media relations manager at St. Joseph’s College, as secretary; and Louise Cassano, owner and principal of LuCas Communications, as treasurer.
Director reappointments include Jerry Allocca, founder and CEO of Connected Culture, Inc.; Tim Hurley, new media specialist, Gotham Government Relations & Communications; and Andrea Jones, founder of On Target Marketing and marketing manager, Rivkin Radler LLP.
New board members include Anna D’Aloisio, assistant professor, Molloy College; Danielle De Souza, public relations manager, UCP Suffolk; Theresa Jacobellis, vice president, marketing, Paradigm Health Plans, LLC; Edie Reinhardt, principal, RDT Content Marketing; Rachael Risinger, public affairs specialist, State Farm; and Cassandra Rowan, interactive media and marketing manager, Girl Scouts of Nassau County.
Additionally, the organization has unveiled a new, redesigned version of its website, www.prpli.org. Key features of the site include a cleaner and more attractive design, mobile compatibility, and a more engaging user experience that allows for members to create and customize a bio page with links to their LinkedIn and Twitter accounts.
The new site also features a refreshed Job Bank. Non-member organizations can now advertise their open positions on the job bank page free of charge, which will dramatically increase the number of career opportunities available for members.
