We have the opportunity to send Albany a powerful message on Nov. 8. I am running for State Assembly in the 16th Assembly District—which covers parts of Old Westbury—to be a voice for reform in Albany. I am asking you to join our campaign so that we can fix our corrupt and dysfunctional state government.
The first step to better government is enacting comprehensive ethics reform. The days of widespread corruption in Albany need to end. When I get to Albany, I will introduce ethics legislation that includes term limits, tougher penalties for corrupt politicians, a strong ethics board, more government transparency, and an overhaul of our corrupt state contracting and grant process. These are not partisan ideas; they are simply common sense.
We also need to reform our state’s fiscal and economic priorities. New York’s high taxes and burdensome regulations are making Long Island unaffordable. When I get to Albany, I will fight to rein in government spending, reform the tax code, and scale back burdensome regulations. These reforms will help make New York the economic powerhouse that it can and should be.
I have lived in this district for my entire life. The people here are my family, and I truly believe that our community deserves better representation in Albany. As a former aide to Governor George Pataki and to the Town of North Hempstead, I have the experience not only to fight for our district, but to deliver results.
