The final FunDay Monday of the 2016 season will be HomeTown USA on Aug. 29. HomeTown USA will feature a salute to our Armed Forces and celebrate American traditions.

The Northport VA Mobile Unit will also be at the event and equipped with eligibility specialists to explain benefits, provide medical evaluations and assist veterans in applying for a VA medical card. To reserve a time slot with the mobile unit, call 631-261-4400, ext. 7084.

This FunDay Monday is sponsored by Northwell Health, Parker Jewish and AgeWell New York, and hosted by the Department of Community Services. FunDay Monday offers hundreds of seniors from across the town an opportunity to gather for games, music, dancing, entertainment and exercise.

“HomeTown USA is one of our most well-attended FunDay Mondays,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “It’s an exciting celebration of American traditions including a special salute to our Armed Forces. The day is also filled with hobbies, crafts, musical performances and even a classic car show!”

In addition to enjoying the celebrations, seniors can participate in a variety of activities, such as line dancing at 10 a.m., Zumba at 10 a.m., fitness at 11 a.m., mah-jongg at 11 a.m. and tai chi at 12:30 p.m.
