Two high school juniors were selected for the highly prestigious 2016 NAfME All-National Honor Ensembles Mixed Choir to be held in Grapevine, TX, in November. Zachary Lee, from North High, was selected a Bass 2 singer, and Noah Harouch, from South High, was selected as Bass 1.
At North, Lee is a member of Chorus and Honors Select Singers, was All-County Choir and excelled in Advanced Placement Music Theory. He has had featured roles in the school musicals Rent and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Zach is also gifted instrumentally as an All-State flutist and an outstanding pianist. He is a member of the Chamber Music Society, Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and is copresident of Tri-M Chapter 2605, music honor society. His vocal teacher at North High is Dr. Janine Robinson.
At South, Harouch is a member of Jazz Choir, Barbershop, Musical Theatre Troupe and is the student conductor of the Chamber Choir. He has participated in All-County and All-State Choirs and has played leading roles in South High’s operas, including Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, and the Toreador in Carmen. Dr. Pamela Levy is his vocal teacher.
