The Farmingdale Community Summit, together with the South Farmingdale Fire Department (SFFD), invite all members of the community to “A Day of Remembrance” on Thursday, Sept. 8. The Summit’s annual Farmingdale Remembers ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial at the Farmingdale Public Library located at 116 Merritts Rd. in Farmingdale. Farmingdale Remembers is the Summits’ annual observance commemorating the events of September 11, 2001.
The Summit urges all residents of the community to participate in the brief ceremony to: honor and remember those who perished, pay tribute to those who served so unselfishly in the recovery operation and to show our continued support for all those who were affected by the events of September 11.
Following the services at the library all are invited to the South Farmingdale Fire Department (819 Main Street, South Farmingdale) at 7:15 p.m. to view the beautiful memorial area, participate in a short ceremony and enjoy a light buffet courtesy of the SFFD.
