Island Trees High School student composers, Jessica Barenzano and Sarah Murphy, have been recognized by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) for their talent in electronic music composition. Their original electronic music compositions 
were selected out of hundreds of compositions submitted from all across New York State to be performed at the Electronic Music Composition Showcase at the NYSSMA All-State Conference held in Rochester, NY. Original music composition is an important part of Island Trees High School’s music theory program under the direction of music teacher Mr. J. Peter Hansen. Congratulations to both the students and their teacher for achieving such an honor!
