25th Annual Faculty Recital To Delight Concertgoers

The 25th Annual Great Neck Public Schools Faculty Recital will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m., at South High School, 341 Lakeville Rd. Come hear instrumental and vocal music performed by the district’s talented faculty and friends. The event promises to be an exhilarating evening.

Performing solo or in groups, instrumental and vocal musicians will give concert-hall-caliber presentations. Highlights from the evening include: Mozart’s “Kegelstatt Trio” for viola, clarinet and piano; Mozart’s “Duettino” from Le Nozze di Figaro; “Life on Mars” by David Bowie; “Younger Than Springtime” from South Pacific; “What More Can I Say” from Falsettos; and selections from My Fair Lady.

Music faculty who will perform include Amy Kempton from Kennedy, Dr. Pamela Levy from South High, Dr. Janine Robinson from North High, Joseph Rutkowski from North High, Michael Schwartz from South High and Alexander Swerdlin from Baker.

Non-music faculty/administration performers include Melissa Block from North Middle, Zachary
Boyt from North Middle, Stephen Goldberg from Village, Thomas Hahn from North High, Jodi Kahn from North High, Bernard Kaplan from North High, Marissa Lando from South Middle, Dr. Stephen Lando from administration, Dr. David Manuel from South High, Michael Norberto from North Middle, Ilana Meredith Schickler from North High, Blair Silver from North High and Robert Zahn from South Middle.

Performing friends will include Laura Gustavsen, Yeou-Cheng Ma, Peggy Rakas, Debra Schild and Elinor Zayas.

Suggested ticket prices at the door are $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for adults. Proceeds will benefit the Music Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to continue musical studies. Light refreshments will be available.
