Men With Fake Police Badges Rob East Meadow Family

NCPD LogoNassau County Police Department First Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 4:30 pm in East Meadow.

According to detectives, while outside his Little Whaleneck Road residence raking leaves in front of the house, the 81-year-old victim, who speaks no English, was approached by a white male who was dressed in a uniform-type black shirt and black pants. The uniformed male escorted the elderly male to the rear of the yard and into the house, where they were met by the 49-year-old son, who speaks English. The uniformed suspect advised the son that he was there to search the residence and asked if there were any guns, knives or drugs in the home.

The suspect then spoke into a radio advising an additional subject, who was dressed identically as the first subject, to enter the home. After displaying what appeared to be a police badge, the son was then told to gather the family, including his 73-year old mother and 43-year-old sister, and go into the downstairs bathroom and remain there while they searched the house.

The victims, who waited in the bathroom for 30 minutes, then exited and noticed that the subjects had left. It was then observed that $850 was removed from the son’s wallet and $3,000 was missing from the father’s room.

The uninjured victims described the subjects as follows:
• Subject 1: Male white, 40 years old with short black hair. Approximately 5’8”-5’11” tall.
• Subject 2: Male white, also in his 40’s with short dark hair.
