An in-house field trip, Journeys Into American Indian Territory, held at Abbey Lane Elementary School in Levittown complemented the information studied in the fourth-grade social studies curriculum about native peoples. Presenter Richie Cornacchio discussed the geographical location of the Iroquois, their methods of survival, and the tools utilized for agriculture. In addition, the students explored Native American artifacts, walked through a replicated longhouse and tried their hands at using a pestle and mortar to grind corn.
