The Great Neck Public Schools Adult Learning Center at 105 Clover Dr. will be offering English as a New Language (ENL) and Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), formerly known as GED, exam preparation classes Mondays through Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to noon, and Mondays through Thursdays, from 6 to 9 p.m.
A range of English-language courses are offered, from beginning to advanced literacy. To prepare for the TASC examination, classes are available to improve math, social studies, science, reading and writing skills. Once enrolled, students may also take elective classes, such as Conversational English, Crossroads Café, Citizenship and more at no additional charge.
Class registration, which must be completed in person at the center, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 to 9 p.m.; and on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon. Preference will be given to Great Neck residents and returning students. Be sure to allow two hours to complete the registration process.
The annual, nonrefundable processing fee is $50 for those who live or work in Great Neck—proof of residency or Great Neck employment must be submitted at time of registration—and $100 for nonresidents. All nonresident students must be at least 21 years old.
Payment must be made during registration either in cash or by credit card, check or money order payable to Great Neck Public Schools. For more information, refer to the Fall/Winter Community Education catalog, call 516-441-4950 or visit http://alc.greatneck.k12.ny.us.
