Stokes students and their parents recently enjoyed an evening full of math activities. Students in second, third, and fourth grade explored many areas in math. These topics included probability, multiplication, and money. Students explored symmetry with pattern blocks and created shapes with Tangrams. Students in second grade learned about many wonderful math books that the Stokes library has available to take out and bring home. Throughout the evening, each student participated in three math centers that were led by Stokes teachers. The highlight of the evening was seeing students and their family members having conversations about the activity they were engaged in and thinking of the strategies that were involved in winning a game.
