The Jonas E. Salk Middle School Recreation Club hosted its third annual Turkey Bowl on Nov. 9. Under the supervision of Dan Agovino and Erica Tuccillo, more than 100 boys and girls in grades 7-8 competed in a 6v6 flag football tournament under the lights on the MacArthur High School turf in Levittown. All teams played three pre-tournament games and were then seeded into a single elimination bracket.
The Turkey Bowl Championship winners were Jack Butler, Michael Leo, John Lozito, Anthony McGlone, James Napoli, Matthew Papach and Steven Weber. In addition, Joe Calabro, Dylan Collins, Dustin Genco, Joe Misuraca, James O’Brien, and Sean Seniuk placed second.
The Jonas E. Salk Middle School administration and athletic department would like to thank the chaperones and participants, as well as those who donated food for its local holiday food drive. A special thanks also goes to the Napoli brothers who went above and beyond with their food drive collection.
