A Long Beach man has admitted to shooting a 28-year-old man who was killed when the gunman opened fire into a group of people in 2014.

Antonio Webb, 24, pleaded guilty Monday to first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

“This defendant recklessly shot into a crowd of people and stole the life of an innocent 28-year old,” Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said.

Prosecutors said Webb was armed with a pistol when he fired several shots into a tattoo party at the Channel Park Homes on Birch Court in Long Beach at 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 27, 2014.

Tyrenzo Brown was shot multiple times and taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Webb fled the scene but Nassau County police arrested him days later.

The shooting was the result of a dispute over a woman between Webb and a friend of Brown’s, authorities said.

Webb faces 20 up to years in prison when he is sentenced May 17 by Judge Teresa Corrigan.
