A Queens man was arrested this week for allegedly punching a 74-year-old man in the face during an Elmont home invasion last year, Nassau County police said.
Christian Font, 36, of Sunnyside, was charged with burglary, robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
Police said the suspect entered the victim’s Russell Street home through an unlocked kitchen window and punched the victim in the eye when the victim in the eye when the victim tried to stop the suspect from breaking in at 1 p.m. July 21, 2016.
Font ordered the victim to lie down while the alleged assailant ransacked the home before he fled the scene with electronics and jewelry, authorities said.
The victim refused medical treatment. Crime Scene detectives found the suspect’s prints at the scene and matched them to Font, who was apprehended Friday at Riker’s Island. He will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
