A car crash in Commack left an 88-year-old Coram man dead and injured two others on Sunday evening.
Suffolk County police said Frank Stengl was a front-seat passenger in a Nissan Altima being driven westbound on the North Service Road of the Long Island Expressway when the car collided with a Ford van while the car was making a left turn at 5:20 p.m.
Stengl was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan and the rear-seat passenger, Joan Walsh were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the can was not injured and remained at the scene.
Second Squad detectives impounded the vehicles, are continuing the and ask anyone with information about this crash to call them at 631-854-8252.
