Greenport Man Arrested for Strangling Woman To Death

A man was arrested for strangling a 27-year-old woman to death in her Greenport home this week, Suffolk County police said.

Southold Town Police officers found Michelle Schiavoni dead in her house on 2nd Street at 10 p.m. Monday, police said.

Homicide Squad detectives apprehended 23-year-old Jaime DeLeon-Tito, also of Greenport, in Riverhead on Tuesday and charged him with second-degree murder.

He will be arraigned Wednesday at Southold Town Court.
