Two men were arrested for allegedly stabbing an 83-year-old woman to death and assaulting her grandson in the victims’ Levittown home on Wednesday, Nassau County police said.
Benjamin Lopez, 23, of Levittown, and 19-year-old Deangelo Gill of Uniondale were each charged with second-degree murder.
Police responded to a 911 call of an assault at the victims’ North Newbridge Road home, where officers found the 24-year-old man with multiple lacerations to both arms and his grandmother with lacerations to her body at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, authorities said.
The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in serious condition while being treated for his injuries.
The suspects will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
