Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care opened its newest center on Monday, Sept. 11 in Port Washington, bringing the number of such facilities that the company has on Long Island to 19, officials said.
The urgent care centers, which Northwell Health touts as the fastest-growing on LI, are designed to treat minor or moderate injuries or illnesses with services ranging from treatment of colds, flu, minor skin lacerations, sports injuries, x-rays and lab services. They are in network with most major insurance plans.
“The facility was designed to create transparency and comfort for our patients and our team,” said Sarah Arora, NY Market President. “Our exam rooms are 25-50 percent larger than the average urgent care center to accommodate families. Our color scheme, lighting and music creates a warm and inviting environment that facilitates healing.”
The Port Washington center is the 38th Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care in the New York Metro area. The company also has plans to open a center in Great Neck in October.
Northwell Health, which changed its name in 2015 from North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health Care System, is the largest private employer in New York State and the 14th largest health system nationwide.
Since the facilities are owned by Northwell Health, it allows for seamless integration with the health care system’s innovative electronic medical record system that can be accessed by caregivers across Northwell Health.
The high-tech facilities are also customer friendly, allowing patients to pre-register from their mobile devices, sign in electronically upon arrival and access their clinical data, including test results, in real time through an online portal.

The new Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care facility is located at 67 Shore Rd. in Port Washington. The center will be open 365 days a year, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, visit gohealthuc.com
