RSNS Students Welcomed With Bluegrass Jamboree

The Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore (RSNS) celebrated its first day of Synagogue School with a Jewish bluegrass jamboree featuring Nefesh Mountain, a musical group that combines Jewish spirit and soul with bluegrass and old-time music. The band’s songs and spirituals draw from the beautiful depths of Jewish culture, illuminated with the timeless sounds of guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass and dobro.

Throughout the day, students enjoyed a series of workshops, where they had the opportunity to meet the band, which is led by the husband-and-wife team of Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff. During these workshops, the children learned new songs. The day culminated in a knee-stomping concert as each class performed along with the band for the entire school.
