Members of the fire department recently held a funeral for Chief Charles D. Giudice, who passed away in December. Giudice served 33 years as a member of the Levittown Fire Department and Engine Company 3. In 1992, he served as Engine Company 3 secretary. From 1994-96, he served one year as second lieutenant and two years as first lieutenant. Giudice served as Captain of Engine Company 3 in 1997 and 1998.
The department elected Giudice to third deputy chief in 2004 and 2005, second deputy chief in 2006 and 2007, and first deputy chief in 2008 and 2009.
Giudice was installed as the 34th chief of the Levittown Fire Department. He grew up in Rosedale, Queens. He and his wife Jayne married in March 1980. Giudice was a construction manager at Bancker Construction Corp. in Islandia, NY.
Giudice is survived by his wife Jayne and their three adult children, Matt (Shannon), Kristen and Christopher.
