The Levittown Community Council has announced that its WinterFest celebration will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s theme will be Broadway shows, and aims to be a day of fun and entertainment for the whole family.
Vanessa Alvero will sing Broadway tunes at 12:30 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a Partyloons Puppet show, “Doodle Bop Wiggle & Dance,” by Small World Puppets, which will be followed by a meet and greet. Attendees can even have their picture taken with Pikachu and meet the Home for the Holidays and the Halloween Haunted House Winners. Jim Wilson of Rhythm Force entertainment will also provide fun for the kids, both young and not so young, including free arts and crafts, tattoos, face painting and balloon artistry.
In addition, the Levittown Public Library will be giving away a large assortment of books as well as offering storytime. The Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers Train Club will be on-hand with a portable train display, and attendees will have access to free raffles, low-cost refreshments and local community organizations’ information booths.
Those who attend are encouraged to bring nonperishable food and/or toiletry items to benefit local families, as well as gently used plastic toys to help Brandon Smith complete his Life Scout project, with all toys donated to Second Hand Toys to benefit children in poverty.
