When did you realize you had psychic abilities?
My first realization of my abilities came when I was seven years old, right after my 3 major operations on my left leg for osteomylitis, a disease of the bone marrow, triggered by a kick from a pony at a local fair (trauma to the bone). Each time that I was operated on, they “lost” me for a short duration of time and I experienced the “out of body” where I went through a tunnel towards a brilliant white light and then met my relatives who had passed there and I also had my “conversation with God” and was given the awareness of my “job” on earth – giving people 411 on their lives and futures to restore hope and faith.
How did you get started in this career path?
I would always just “know” things from that time on, whether it was my Irish grandmother speaking to me or just an awareness of events that would transpire. When I reached my late teens, I began taking “Psychic Development Courses” with Eileen Johnn in her home in Copiague, NY, (where as fate would have it, I would live for 25 years) and she would give me instruction on how to meditate and visualize. I already had a creative visualization process as a fine artist and would paint from “pictures” in my mind. Her classes consisted of like-minded people who had the gift too or were looking to develop it.
How did PATV become your base?
PATV chose me – Shirley Bruno, PATV Executive Director Emeritus had sent Betty Craco, PATV Board Member, to attend a presentation I was giving to the Plandome Women’s Group in the early ‘90s and invited me to be interviewed on her “Access Spotlight” program with then-host Lada Lysiniak from Manhasset. The positive response to that show prompted Shirley to “discover” me for PATV! I have been doing my show at PATV since 1995. It’s my pro bono work – PATV is a 501 (c)3 not for profit organization. A modern day prophet working for a not-for- profit —almost a paradox.
How can you “tune into” a client’s energy through their voice?
This is energy work and I key into a person’s energy through their voice – Nikola Tesla, a brilliant scientist, once said: “In order to understand the universe, you need to think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” That’s the science, the soul is connecting to it and extrapolating the information for the individual I am reading for; almost like reading the energy and downloading the information.
When giving a reading, does the energy of the client’s family ever get confused in the reading?
Sometimes when reading for someone, they are so attached to their loved ones that the energies overlap with each other, and information can be meant for someone else in the person’s family. Akin to the old fashioned “party lines” the phone company used to have.
How has the time impacted your business? Are people as interested in psychics as they were in 1982 when you began?
I began reading for people professionally in 1982, but I was reading for people informally since I was a teenager. I feel people have just as much interest as they have then as they do now. Lots of gifted people such as John Edward, Sylvia Browne, and Theresa Caputo have broken the“glass ceiling” or should I say “ghost ceiling” in the media and now the paranormal is accepted and investigated too. I have been on national TV in the early ‘90s, making an appearance on MTV reading for VJay “Downtown Julie Brown” and LaToya Jackson on the internationally syndicated The Rolanda Watts Show on NBC. I was also on radio stations, WBAB reading for Regis Philbin on The Joyce Keller Show.
At times, you have fallen off the radar, was that done on purpose?
I “fell off the radar” on purpose to develop my healing abilities by studying Reiki, and on January 5, 2016 was certified in Levels 1, 2 and Master certification in Usui Reiki – receiving attunements from my instructor, Lisa Powers. I am utilizing my energy healing abilities in my work now and have also studied essential oils and herbs to incorporate in healing sessions. Healing body, mind and spirit is the goal in my work now. My brother, Bert Gordy, is a NY State licensed Acupuncturist – so healing runs in my family!
How do you deal with people who don’t believe in your psychic abilities?
I always tell people who don’t believe in psychic abilities that it is their choice and prerogative to do so – I am not pitching any revival tents and recruiting believers!
You have a website, how do you do readings on the web? How successful is the sourcing of new clients?
People go to my website for the 411 on my ability and to select time frames for phone consultations – 15 min or 30 min usually.
Do you have any international clients?
Yes, I have clients all over the world.
Were there any readings that you can mention that truly impacted you?
There are many readings that have impacted me to show me this is my true calling-one of those is listed on my website as a testimonial from a mother who lost her son in the line of duty and how Archangel Michael restored her faith through her grandson. Another where a father’s “prodigal son” was saved from a drug overdose because of a reading with me. I’ve been reading for many years, the list is long but worthwhile.
