Empire State Development will hold two public hearings for community input on the proposed plan for development at Belmont. The project is set to include an 18,000-seat arena for the New York Islanders, a 435,000-square-foot retail and entertainment complex, a hotel and other amenities.
The hearings will take place on Thursday, March 22, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Elmont Memorial Library, 700 Hempstead Tpke., Elmont.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, comments may be sent to Michael Avolio at Empire State Development, 633 Third Ave., New York, NY 10017 or by email to belmontoutreach@esd.ny.gov. The deadline for submission of comments if 5 p.m. on April 12.
