The Manhasset Park District (MPD) has executed an agreement with the Town of North Hempstead to open the adjacent properties at the intersection of MPD Lot 3 and the Mary Jane Davies parking lot. This reconstruction and redesign will allow for the creation of 16 additional commuter parking spots within the Manhasset Park District Lot.

The Manhasset Park District strongly advises commuters, who regularly use MPD Lot 3, to consider carpooling or drop off for that week’s commute.

Beginning Monday, May 7, a total of 12 spaces along the current intersection at Mary Jane Davies Park will be unavailable for commuter parking, due to the commencement of construction. The MPD anticipates the construction to be completed by Friday, May 13.

“We apologize for any inconvenience these temporary parking reductions may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to complete this project in the shortest timeframe possible,” said Manhasset Park District commissioners.

After construction is completed, the entrances and exits to the MPD Lot 3 will change. Memorial Avenue entrance will now be through the Mary Jane Davies’ parking lot. Manhasset Avenue’s Northeastern entrance/exit will be closed.

All automobiles exiting from Lot 3 will be restricted to Mary Jane Davies Lot and Manhasset Avenue’s Northwest exit.

Mary Jane Davies Lot will remain a one way exit onto Manhasset Avenue.
