Available for adoption at Almost Home Animal Rescue:
How cute is Remy?! This 1 ½-year-old boy is a very sweet cat who would love a home of his own. He would do best in a home with older children and watch out, when he warms up to you, you have a friend for life!
Gizelle is a lovely 1-year-old spayed pittie mix rescued through Almost Home’s Training Wheels community program. She is a delightful gal described as a social, sweet and outgoing. She is good with kids and other dogs. Can’t ask for more!
For more information about adopting Remy and Gizelle, Almost Home Animal Rescue at almosthomeli.org or call 631-627-3665.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington:
When Neon arrived as an older kitten this spring, the team discovered she was already expecting. She birthed her litter in their nursery, where she took loving care of her six kittens. Once they were adopted, Neon was treated for heart issues.
It’s time for Neon to find a forever home where she’ll find plenty of playtime and snuggle, other animals and an active family. Neon is in foster care and ready for adoption. Contact North Shore’s Foster Manger at Emilyde@animalleague.org for more info today!
Atom is a devoted companion who brightens up like a puppy when friends come by to spend time with him. Although he has coexisted with other cats, he’s not looking to be their best friend—just yours! You’ll want to stroke his soft coat all day, and he won’t object!
Atom’s vet team is monitoring him for Hyperthyroidism and a slight heart murmur—both conditions covered through North Shore’s accredited Medical Center in Port Washington.
Because he can be shy at times, his ideal home will be one with cat experienced adults and children over 10 years old in age who can help him transition into the life of a well-loved pet. Atom doesn’t know it gets any better than his comfy bed at our Adoption Center, but little does he know that his true happiness lies in the lap of his very own human.
Lucky Polly came from an overcrowded municipal shelter in Florida to North Shore Animal League where the medical team detected a serious heart issue. Polly is being treated successfully (her care is covered at their fully accredited Medical Center on the Port Washington campus) and is ready for a new start. Polly has a gentle disposition and zen-like vibe that will fit into a calm home setting with like-minded felines and humans.
A favorite among the North Shore Animal League America staff and volunteers, Vincent is a sweet older gentleman who arrived this spring. Vincent is being treated for his runny nose—easily managed with the help of the medical team. He would happily have his ears and chin rubbed all day long while sunning himself in a window, gazing at birds. If your home is on the quieter side (if there are children, age 8+, please) consider Vincent a perfect addition – deserves a home as special as he is.
Please contact Sonias@animalleague.org for more information about adopting Atom, Polly and Vincent today!
Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:
Ivo is a 2-year-old Terrier mix with the cutest ears on the planet and the personality to match! Ivo was surrendered to our shelter along with his sister due to their owners moving out of state. Ivo’s previous owners reported that he is house and crate trained, knows his basic commands and enjoys playing with his toys. Ivo tested aloof with other dogs, so a home with a laid-back dog would be perfect for him.
If you are interested in adopting Ivo, please call the shelter for more information at 516-785-5220, visit at 3320 Beltagh Ave., Wantagh or email adoption@tohmail.org
Available for adoption at Bideawee:
Meet Lenore! This 6-year-old lovely lady has unmistakably gorgeous, glowing, green eyes, and a fantastic tabby coat. Everyone at Bideawee is a fan of her. Boasting a diva personality and a sassy kind of love, she has a way of winning hearts! She is looking for a home that knows how to treat a lady and can fully appreciate her feminine charms. Check out her webpage for more info!
Ziva is the sweet and gorgeous kitty boasting a “blue” smoke coat, a sweet face and an emerald eye. She is quite majestic looking. Sadly, this sweet girl needed to have one eye removed in kitten-hood, due to damage from an untreated infection.
Resilient, she gets along perfectly fine with just one, and is an inspiration for all. Sweet, but bashful, Ziva would be best in a mature, quiet home, that can shower her with the TLC that she deserves. Read more about her on her webpage.
Two-year old April is a beautiful and tender-hearted young girl. Sweet like spring flowers, and soft like a gentle, warm rain, she was truly aptly named. Loving, but bashful, this modest beauty is a delicate friend to everyone she comes across, be it human, canine or feline alike. All she seeks in life is a home and family that is as sweet, dedicated, and patient as April deserves.
She needs a quiet, mature home that will help to build her confidence and who will make her feel comfortable. She’d love to go home with a furry friend or two as well, if possible! Check out her webpage.
Meet Gracie! Boasting a dark ebony coat, with beautiful be-speckled paws, and the deepest brown eyes you’ve ever seen, this girl is simply gorgeous! During her time at Bideawee, Gracie has already won over the staff and volunteers with her sweet personality! This sweet girl is definitely shy at first, but once she knows you, her sparkling personality shines bright!
Gracie is an active girl, who would love a mature family that would enjoy spending time taking her on long walks and exploring different places. All this sweet girl needs is a family that will be by her side, guiding her through life! Read more about her on her webpage.
For more information about adopting Lenore, Ziva, April and Gracie, contact the Bideawee adoption center located at 118 Old Country Rd., Westhampton, or call 631-684-0079.

He’s the perfect blend of playfulness and happens to also be a couch-potato master. Willis walks well on leash, knows basic commands and is gentle and enjoys fetching a tennis ball in a fenced yard. Willis would love to take up space on your couch-and in your heart. Willis could live with another dog his size (meet and greets are a must) and would need a cat-free home.
