Adult Learning Center students collect toys for children fighting terminal illnesses
Students at the Great Neck Public Schools Adult Learning Center organize a donation drive for a local charity each holiday season.
This year, participants collected unwrapped toys for patients at Cohen Children’s Hospital to support the Child Life and Creative Art Therapies Program for little ones fighting terminal illnesses.
Members of the Adult Learning Center Student Council display some of the donations, along with (back row, from left): Superintendent of Schools Dr. Teresa Prendergast, Director of Human Resources Jennifer Kirby, Director of Adult Basic Education Dr. Errin Hatwood, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Dr. Stephen Lando, Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and Pupil Services Dr. Joseph Hickey, Assistant Superintendent for Business John Powell, Board of Education Trustee Rebecca Sassouni, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education Kelly Newman and Board of Education Trustee Donna Peirez, who wish everyone a holiday filled with happiness and hope.
