Kindergarten Registration Begins
Enrollment for all children in the Great Neck Public Schools who will attend public or private kindergarten in the 2019–20 school year will begin today and run through Friday, Feb. 1, at the Office of Registration, Phipps Administration Building., 345 Lakeville Rd., from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on school days. To be eligible, children must have been born between Dec. 2, 2013, and Dec. 1, 2014. Registration requirements include: 1. Proof of district residency, such as a deed, current tax bill or closing statement for ownership; current signed lease or rent receipts for rental. 2. Three pieces of current, official mail. 3. Child’s original birth certificate. 4. Parent or guardian valid photo ID. 5. Parental control papers, if applicable. 6. Immunization certificate signed and stamped by a physician or authorized health agency. Students enrolled in the district’s Universal Prekindergarten program do not have to register. If you have not received a kindergarten registration packet by mail, pick one up at the Office of Registration or download forms at www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/registration; 516-441-4080 or residency@greatneck.k12.ny.us.

North Hempstead residents can get or renew a passport from 5 to 8 p.m. at the East Williston Public Library, 2 Prospect St. Bring two forms of government-issued identification and the completed application from www.travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html or the town clerk’s office, 200 Plandome Rd. in Manhasset, where passport services are offered on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Take photos on-site for $10. The two fees are the execution fee, which is paid to the town clerk’s office by cash, check or credit; and the application fee, which is paid to the Department of State by check only.
