Letter: Save Great Neck From The Developers

At the Jan. 15 Village of Great Neck meeting at Village Hall, the audience was encouraged to read the recommendation of the DGEIS East Shore Road and Middle Neck Road Corridor Study.

Perhaps, it would have been better to have kept it a secret—it’s much worse than I thought! All of East Shore Road is at risk of tall buildings and overdevelopment, which means overcrowding, more density and more traffic.

If this ill-conceived plan goes through, it’s goodbye, way of life! Goodbye, peace and quiet! Goodbye, water views! Goodbye pleasant driving, goodbye clean, unpolluted air! Goodbye beautiful, quiet and scenic bucolic Great Neck!

Everyone must come to the meetings at Village Hall at 61 Baker Hill Rd. on Feb. 5 and Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The quality of life in Great Neck for years to come depends on it! The stakes are too high to stay home!
