Administrators, staff and families filled the gymnasium of Levittown Memorial Education Center as Gerald R. Claps Career and Technical Center students put their skills to test for the school’s annual student competition on Feb. 7. Students demonstrated their acquired skills for attendees, including potential employers and colleges.
GC Tech is a unique program dedicated to teaching comprehensive career and technical skills, along with qualifying academics, for students enrolled in the Levittown Public Schools and neighboring districts. The program offers courses in the areas of automotive technology, computer animation, cosmetology, culinary arts, electrical technology and more.
During the competition, students competed in the areas of 3-D visualization and animation, automotive technology, construction management, criminal justice, crime scene investigation, culinary arts, electrical technology, evening hairstyling, fantasy hairstyling, job demonstration, job interview, medical assisting and senior nail art.
