Z100’s Greg T & Other Guests Gather At Gardiners Avenue School

Gardiners Avenue Elementary School students in the Levittown Public Schools recently celebrated the school’s Pick A Reading Partner week with an array of special guests. PARP is recognized in schools throughout the country to encourage students to read and participate in literacy-based activities.

During the week, students participated in a Read-A-Thon activity and heard from guest readers from the district’s central administration and building administration such as Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tonie McDonald, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Todd Winch, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources

Debbie Rifkin, Division Avenue High School Principal John Coscia, Jonas E. Salk Middle School Principal John Zampaglione and more.

Towards the end of the week, the students received a special visit from radio personality Greg T from Z100’s “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.” He introduced the Gardiners Avenue theater club’s production of “Just A Dream” and spoke to students about PARP and Z100. Students also heard from Stone Grissom, prime time anchor at News 12 Long Island, Town of Hempstead councilman Dennis Dunne and other community members who read to classes in honor of PARP week and spoke about the importance of reading.
