Adorable animals in all shapes and sizes are seeking their forever homes. Read all about how to adopt or foster your new best friend right here!A Special Request from Pets4Luv Foundation:
Pets4Luv is now being evicted from its current facility space at the Source Mall in Wesbury. There is an urgent need to find placement for their remaining 60 homeless cats. Apollo, Hope, Faith and Honey Bun are just some of the kitties looking for homes.
If you or someone you know can temporarily foster, or better yet adopt any of their sweet kitties, please email owner Dave directly at info@pets4luv.org (subject: I would like to foster for you).
Cats are always better in a foster situation as in opposed to a shelter, so please help if you can. For more information about adopting or fostering, contact Pets4Luv Foundation @pets4luv.org or 516-832-8200.
Available for adoption through NYC Second Chance Rescue:
Squishy face Bryson is stopping by to let you know that he is still in need of a foster or adopter. This easy-going fella is melting the hearts of all the staff and volunteers. He loves it there, but he would love a home to curl up on the couch even more.
Bryson is a 4-year-old, super sweet Staffordshire terrier. He was due to be euthanized at a high-kill shelter last month, but SCR pulled him to safety and now all he needs is a home. Bryson does well with other dogs, especially the ladies. If you can make your house Bryson’s new home, head to nycsecondchancerescue.org and fill out an adoption application today!
Available for adoption at Almost Home Animal Rescue:
Poor Misty is a 5-year-old beauty who was unfortunately surrendered by her family due to allergy issues. All Misty wants is a lap to sit on and a hand to pet her. If you can open your heart and home to Misty, please contact Almost Home Animal Rescue at almosthomeli.org or call 631-627-3665 today!
Available for adoption at Little Shelter:
Meet Bella the Wonder Pug! Bella is a very special girl who is partially paralyzed in her back legs and needs a wheel cart to get around. She arrived at Little Shelter through the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals.
When she arrived, Bella ran around in her wheel cart giving kisses to all the staff members. It was obvious she is a very loving dog who doesn’t know there is anything wrong with her. Little Shelter staff began working with Bella every day, helping her stand on all four legs, coaxing her to walk forward while we helped support her back legs.
Bella will most likely always need a wheel cart, but thanks to the efforts of Little Shelter she can walk without one for short periods of time. Now it’s time for someone special to adopt Bella who is willing to continue working with her.
Little Miss Carol is a beautiful 3-year-old silver tabby cat who came to Little Shelter as a kitten. She’s a quiet cat who enjoys getting chin scratches and ear rubs, but always waits for you to come to her. She will contently purr when you pet her and start “making biscuits” with whatever blanket she’s laying on.
For more information about adopting Bella and Carol, please contact Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center at 33 Warner Rd, Huntington, 631-368-8770.
Available for adoption at the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter:
Tyson is an extremely sweet kitty who just loves getting affection but is a bit of a wall flower, always waiting for someone to come to him. This big boy would love to be your lap cat and would enjoy having a quiet home where he can play with toys and sunbathe.
Juliette is looking for the happy ending to her story. She is a sweetheart who loves to be loved. She is always looking for affection from staff and volunteers. Juliette wants a home where she can have someone who will brush her and spoil her with love.
For more information about adopting Tyson and Juliette, please contact the Town of Huntington Cat Shelter located at 104 Deposit Rd, East Northport, 631-651-9788.
Available for adoption at Bideawee:
Meet Pearl! This 5-year-old gal has been looking for her forever home since arriving at Bideawee in July 2015. Pearl is a domestic shorthair kitty with a coat of creams, silvers and whites. She is simply dazzling! Pearl demands to be wooed and celebrated and is just waiting for someone to win her heart! She would do well in a home with older, gentle children, or an adult-only home.
This beautiful gal is named Bertie. She is a sweet and gorgeous 8-month-old girl worthy of admiration! More than just her good looks, Bertie is also a sweet, spirited and quite intelligent pup. She possesses only the loveliest qualities. Bertie is seeking a family that embraces and enjoys her affectionate and playful personality, and that enjoys an active lifestyle as much as she does! Anyone who hikes, jogs or likes long walks may have found their perfect partner in adventure!
This adorable little 4-year old nugget is Maddie. Boasting a lovely tricolor coat, charming ears and an adorable face, it’s hard not to swoon for her! Bashful at first, but tender-hearted, Maddie is loving with her trusted friends. A true lady, Maddie must be wooed and won over, but once you have her heart, she will give you all of it. Maddie would flourish in a patient home with older children that can give her the time she deserves to blossom and become comfortable. In return, you can expect 16 pounds of pure love and faithfulness for life!
Check out the big smile on this happy pup named Samantha! She has been at Bideawee for too long and deserves to be in her forever home. She originally hails from Puerto Rico, but it turns out that she loves the snow, so perhaps she was always a New Yorker at heart. In addition to loving the snow, Samantha appears to love a lot of things about life. She loves people and snuggles, and she really loves getting out and going on walks or playing outside. Since Samantha has been at Bideawee for a while, she’s become a little quirky about meeting other dogs, but she likes dogs that she knows. Aside from a refresher for housebreaking, she’s pretty good about doing her business outside and she knows her basic commands. Samantha loves to please people and is what the scientific dog books refer to as a “good girl.” She would do best with an experienced dog owner who can provide her with exercise and lots of TLC.
For more information about adopting Pearl, Bertie, Maddie and Samantha, contact the Bideawee adoption center located at 118 Old Country Rd., Westhampton, or call 631-684-0079.
Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America:
Anny (reference #R165367) and her very shy sister Amy (reference #R165366) are looking for a place to feel forever safe. These nine-month-old kittens were plucked off the city streets this winter by a trusted rescue partner who knew North Shore Animal League America would be able to offer them the comfort they have never known outside. Anny has responded quickly to tender loving care, while Amy is cautiously watching her sister’s confidence build, helping her build up her own.
The sisters must be adopted as a pair. All they need is a loving home with cat experienced adults (and children 16+ in age) ready to nurture them. We predict there will be headbutts of gratitude when you do! For more information about Anny and Amy, please contact DoritS@animalleague.org
Pixel (reference #BF2144) arrived as a scared kitten and has grown up under the loving care of a Feline Pet Behavior Team who take great pride in the strides this watchful friend has made. Now a 1-year-old cat, Pixel needs a cat-experienced human with confident feline family members waiting to tutor Pixel and help further develop confidence and trust. If you have a cat in your home who would love to take a loyal quiet friend under their wing, Pixel would love to meet them.
Because she is still bashful, a predictable home with no children under 16 years old is an ideal setting for our precious tuxedo friend. Please reach out to DoritS@animalleague.org for more information about Pixel.
Angel (reference #V38078) was aptly named. This 7-year-old tabby journeyed from an overcrowded municipal shelter in Virginia, arriving unsure of her new setting but quickly showing her inner cherub when offered treats. Now she is a clicker-trained, high-fiving cat who is proud to show off her tricks to the delight of visitors.
Angel wants to be the only pet in her home and will thrive in a quiet setting with children 10+ in age who will offer her the tranquility she craves. All you really need to be her best friend is a handful of treats and a loving heart! If you’re interested in Angel, please contact DoritS@animalleague.org
As always, thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt, never shop…pass it on!
