The Wantagh School District has appointed Anthony J. Cedrone as assistant superintendent for business, effective July 1. Cedrone will replace Adriana Silver, who has served as the district’s business official since 2013.
A Wantagh resident, Cedrone joins Wantagh from the Carle Place Union Free School District, where he served as assistant superintendent for business since 2007. He previously served as assistant to the superintendent for business and technology in the Merrick Union Free School District and in other financial roles in the Valley Stream Union Free School District 30, South Country Central School District and Hofstra University.
Cedrone holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Queens College of the City University of New York, a Master of Business Administration in management from Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business and a professional development certification in school business administration from Long Island University. In addition, Cedrone is president of the Nassau County School Workers Compensation Cooperative, a member of the New York Association of School Business Officials, past president of the Nassau County Association of School Business Officials and a member of the International Association of School Business Officials. He is also vice president of Chemical Engine and Hose Company No. 2, Inc. and a past volunteer with the Valley Stream Fire Department.
