Springtime refreshments are blooming just like the flowers and nothing is more refreshing than a signature cocktail whipped up by my favorite bartender Emily from Gatsby’s Landing in Roslyn. Spring is a time to make your taste buds come alive and these five heady concoctions have a decided fresh spring spirit.
Rose Watermelon Sangria
4 oz of Notorious Pink
Rose
Splash of gin
Fresh lemon
Watermelon slice to garnish
This pink sangria recipe skips the added sugar and uses sparkling pink wine with gin to make a delicious and light refreshing cocktail.
Spring Garden
1 oz lemon vodka
Fresh lemon
Apple slices
Mint
This cocktail is guaranteed to refresh you at your first sip, hinting at the layers of flavor bursting through.
Compari Nobile
1 oz Limoncello
2 oz Campari
1 oz vodka
Muddled raspberry
Splash of orange juice
Add ice and place in shaker to mix. Strain ice and serve in a martini glass.
Mojito
Mint leaves
½ lime cut into wedges
Raw sugar
Ice cubes
1½ oz light rum
½ cup club soda
Mix ingredients and serve in a tall glass over ice. Perfect for a hot summer day.
Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita
½ cup white tequila
¼ cup orange liqueur
¼ cup simple syrup, or more as needed
4 thin slices cucumber
1 jalapeño, halved lengthwise
Ice, for serving
Mix together the lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, simple syrup, cucumber and jalapeños in a large pitcher. Chill for at least one hour allowing flavors to infuse into the drink). Serve over ice in salt-rimmed glasses, if desired.
