DWI Arrest In Roslyn

The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Locust Valley woman for driving while intoxicated that occurred on Friday, April 19, at 7:20 p.m. in Roslyn.
According to police, officers responded to an auto accident at Northern Boulevard and Sinclair Martin Drive. One of the vehicles involved in the accident fled the scene prior to police arrival. A description of the vehicle was broadcast and a canvass of the area was conducted by officers. A short time later, a vehicle that matched the description was located in the parking lot of 300 Forest Drive. The defendant, Melissa Angelone was observed having glassy bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. An investigation was conducted and the defendant was placed under arrest without further incident. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to an area hospital with injuries. The defendant was also transported to an area hospital for her injuries, which she sustained from the airbag deployment in her vehicle.
The defendant is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Leaving The Scene Of An incident With An Injury and Operating A Motor Vehicle .08 of 1 percent or More Alcohol. She was arraigned on Sunday, April 21, at First District Court, 99 Main St., Hempstead.
