At its June 12 meeting, the Levittown Public Schools Board of Education and district administration honored the many successful artists and athletes across each of the district’s schools. The athletic department presented its awards for All-Conference, All-County and All-State players, as well as to Scholar Athletes and Unsung Heroes from the spring sports season. The art department recognized its All-County Artists from the elementary, middle and high school levels, as well as those who were included in the Heckscher Museum of Art Long Island’s Best exhibit, the Shanti Fund Peace Art Calendar winner, and those who were chosen as Year at a Glance artists within the district itself.

As part of the regular meeting that evening, the board presented student liaisons Emily Fuchs and Dave Marcano with plaques, thanking them for their year of service on the board of education. Emily Fuchs will be returning as a liaison again next year. The board also honored each of its retiring staff members and held a small reception in their honor.
