Levittown firefighters rescued a dog and a guinea pig from a smokey house fire on Family Lane in Levittown on July 15. The fire was reported at 8:22 p.m. and fire fighters were training several blocks away. They responded to the alarm quickly enough to stop a kitchen fire from extending to the rest of the home.
The home sustained major damage. No injuries were reported and Levittown FD EMS units gave the dog oxygen from special pet oxygen masks that they carry on all of their ambulances and the dog was doing well after the fire.
