The parish community of the Church of Saint Mary, Manhasset, will present its annual service of Advent Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 8, 2019, in the Church at 3 p.m. This year’s theme embraces the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and is under the direction of Robert C. Levulis, who serves as the director of music for the parish. The celebration will feature the Adult and Youth Choirs of St. Mary’s Parish, St. Mary’s Elementary School Angel Choir, St. Mary’s High School Chamber Choir and musical accompaniment by the Schola Musica Orchestra and acclaimed organist, John P. Buckel.
Through scripture readings and hymnody, the Lessons and Carols retells the events leading up the great feast of Christmas and features works of Handel, Choplin, Joncas, Archer, Strauss and other composers.
All are welcomed to attend, it will bring serenity, peace and joy to all in preparation for the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
