Available for adoption at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:
Trucker is quite the amazing dog. Found tied to a light pole just waiting for someone to rescue him, Trucker holds not one grudge. In fact, Trucker is nothing short of a hunky 4-year-old guy who only wants to play and hang out with humans. If he could talk, he’d tell you his favorite game is playing with tennis balls, which he loves almost as much as getting back scratches. Trucker is house and crate trained and needs a savvy home with kids 17 and older who can teach him boundaries and the structure he craves. If you’re the one who can drive this little Trucker to his own real home, call 516-785-5220, visit 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh or email adoption@tohmail.org. SENIOR ALERT: Sasha (adoption # SPC214) has been tucked away in a quiet foster home for some time now, awaiting a permanent home where she can be the queen of her castle. This 15-year-old domestic short hair lost her human suddenly and thus the only home she’d ever known. But this teenager’s plucky attitude keeps her foster mom on her toes. Sasha is being treated for covered medical conditions and is quite cooperative about taking her medicine. All this gal needs now is a quiet home to make her own.
Saint Patrick (adoption #MA3541) was discovered fending for himself on the streets last winter. NSALA’s rescue team pulled him just in time from a perilous situation and started him on a journey of peace and safety with their Animal League America team. This bright-eyed, 17-month old little fella has been enjoying the security and comfort of a quiet space with other cats he has befriended. Having learned to trust his human caretakers, Saint is now in search of a quiet, loving home with cat-experienced adults and a friendly, confident cat in the home to take Saint under his wing and show him how much happiness is ahead for him as a cherished family member.
Feeling blue? Let Nyx (adoption #WV0091) solve all your problems. This regal, 4-year-old Russian Blue mix has a quiet demeanor that is irresistible. This young lady shines brightly when she is the only pet and will shower you with loads of attention knowing she doesn’t have to share you. Expect lots of lap time and headbutts with this stunner. Nyx is being evaluated for a minor seizure disorder (a covered medical condition through NSALA’s fully accredited Medical Center at low cost to her family, so nothing should stand in her way at forever happiness in a permanent home.) You’ll find Nyx to be a hidden gem just waiting for her chance at a better life, and by rescuing her, you’ll soon realize, she’s rescued you right back.
Crow (adoption #WV0220) took a long journey from West Virginia in hopes of being discovered by his rightful New York family. As shy as this gentle boy may seem, he melts in the arms of his doting humans. Crow is seeking a quiet home with children 12+ in age to help him transition smoothly into a beloved family. You’ll have a lot to crow about when you choose Crow as your new family pet!
Five-year old Lovely (adoption #WV0209) can’t tell us what he’s been through before he reached safety, but this peaceful soul is looking to a future with a human all his own. He’s a very content cat who likes to gaze from sunny windows or curl up in your lap. (He’s so affectionate, the NSALA team had trouble getting him to pose for a photo!) Lovely is being treated for allergies (with a special diet that can be purchased through NSALA’s Medical Center at cost.). Nothing should keep Lovely from living up to his name and being cherished by an adoring family.
SENIOR ALERT: Peaches (adoption #H185117) has experienced great loss recently as her owner could no longer care for her and her beloved litter mate passed away. She has taken these rapid changes in stride and seeks comfort in every new friend she makes. NSALA would love to find this 15-year old senior lady a quiet home worthy of her giving heart where she can live out her golden years. Peaches is being treated for Chronic Renal Disease with her diet (which can be purchased at cost through NSALA’s Medical Center.) Please consider offering your heart and home to Peaches. She will repay you with endless gratitude.
