Troy
Troy

Available for adoption through Pioneers for Animals Welfare Society:

This stunning Akita mix is Troy. Despite a rough history, Troy is quite the gentle giant. This poor fella spent the first five years of his life living outside on concrete, and his “owners” did not provide him with the human interaction or socialization with other dogs that he desperately needed. When neighbors started complaining about Troy being outside crying in the frigid temperatures, his owner sent him the highest kill shelter in New York.  Thankfully he was rescued and has spent the last year living with a great foster dad who has provided him with the love and structure he desperately needs and deserves. Troy is now crate trained, housebroken, walks well on a leash and is very food motivated. Understandably so, Troy takes time to warm up to people, and would do best as an only dog his new home. He loves to cuddle in bed and will roll over for belly rubs once he knows he’s safe. Troy is fully vetted, healthy and simply looking for someone to take him for walks and throw a tennis ball around.

Ebony
Ebony

Beautiful Ebony is looking for a home to call her own for the first time in her short life. She was brought in from the street, spayed and healthy as can be. She is roughly 6 months old and even though she’s a little skittish, she loves to be pet and loves attention! She will entertain herself looking out the window and playing with her toys. She’s a very sweet girl who just needs a little TLC. Don’t we all? She gets along fine with other cats and dogs so head down and scoop up this little gem today!

Kody
Kody

**DOUBLE ADOPTION** Meet adorable 3-month-old siblings Kody and Kleo. Kody is a neutered male, fully vetted and ready for his forever home. He is the sweetest boy who loves to play and follow his sister Kelo around. Kleo has just been spayed and is also vetted as well. She was very timid in the beginning, but now she is a cuddle bug, and just loves to play with her brother. This sweet bonded pair would make great pets in any household. They get along well with other cats and dogs too.Kleo If you can open your heart and home to Troy, Ebony, Kody and Kleo, please contact adoptions@paws-li.org or call 631-306-4616.

Maverick
Maverick

Maverick loves nothing more than to pass the time looking out the window in homes to get the attention of someone passing by the store. Could that someone hold the key to her forever home? All are fully dewormed, vaccinated, tested for FELV / FIV, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Smokey 1
Smokey

Smokey, an 8-year-old Terrier Mix, is the very definition of an absolute gentleman. His previous owner could no longer provide for his needs, so Smokey has been enjoying all the attention and snuggling he gets from the shelter staff and volunteers. He has a cool, very laid-back personality, and gets along with everyone he meets! Smokey walks nicely while on a leash and knows basic commands. He grew up in a home with a female dog, and still enjoys interacting with other pups. Don’t let his age discourage you… Smokey is an amazing friend and companion for just about every family.

Noah 1
Noah

Noah is a 2-year-old Domestic Longhair-Maine Coon Mix. He has a beautiful long coat of fur, whiskers for miles, and bright yellow eyes that are spellbinding. He loves attention and is not afraid to let you know when he needs some more TLC. Noah grew up in a home with a dog and some other cats, so he can fit in a home with multiple pets. He can scare easily, so his ideal home would be a calm and quiet space without smaller children.

In addition, the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter has a wonderful variety of male and female cats and kittens available to adopt or foster. If you are looking for a fun loving, yarn tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two!

Vanna and Pat
Vanna and Pat

**DOUBLE ADOPTION** When Vanna White (adoption #BF2819) and Pat Sajak (adoption #BF2820) first arrived on campus this summer, they weren’t playing any games. While Vanna (a 2 ½ -year-old female) was immediately aware that her new surroundings were safe, it took her best friend Pat (a 2 ½ -year-old male) time to accept humans as companions. Now Pat is showing us he’s ready to host some human hearts, and both are ready to head to a forever home with children 8 and older in age and cat-experienced adults who will continue to help these best friends grow accustomed to their very first home together.  You can buy a vowel, but you can adopt love!

Magenta
Magent. Photo by Ted Lim

Magenta (adoption #R165368) was a lucky young lady when her rescuers secured a place for her at NSALA’s Medical Center where she received care for a palette wound. Time in a foster home where she could recover in a stress-free environment led her to build friendships with other cats that helped her further her adjustment to life in a home. Now living in a cage-free room in Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center, this 4-year-old gal is surrounded by gentle feline companions and is working on developing trusting relationships with the humans who care for her. Magenta is seeking a peaceful, predictable home with children 10 and older in age and adults experienced with fearful cats who will give her a comfy bed and be patient as she acclimates to her new surroundings.  Because she has gained so much from her feline tutors, she will do best in a home with a confident cat to help ease show her the path towards being a beloved family member

Sheriff
Sheriff

Sheriff (adoption #D48128) was discovered abandoned at a police station by some animal loving heroes who brought him straight to the safety of NSALA’s Adoption Center.  This fearful 8-year-old kitty has been learning how to trust and experiencing 5-star treatment by devoted staff and volunteers.  He’s receiving the best care for a heart condition (the care for which is fully covered through NSALA’s Medical Center.)  Sheriff’s shyness tells us a quiet home where he’s the only pet, with experienced adults and calm, caring children 12 and older in age is the ticket to his success.

Gopher left and Meerkat
Gopher (left) and Meerkat

**DOUBLE ADOPTION** Gopher (adoption #D48893) has become quite the Casanova in the safe space he shares with his sister Meerkat (adoption #D48892) and other sweet friends. The only male in the room, 7-year-old Gopher is being wooed by several fine ladies vying for his company, but it’s always the company of Meerkat, a 7-year-old female, he seeks. Meerkat is shier than her brother, but she’s quite content to watch friends frolic, and gingerly accepts treats from visitors while Gopher allows some pets from familiar humans. A confident cat or two in your family will assist these two with a smooth transition into home life. This dynamic duo is seeking a cat experienced, adult home to make sure their adoption is a successful one.If you can open your heart and household to a bonded pair of stunning siblings, Meerkat and Gopher will be most grateful.
