The Long Island Baroque Ensemble, now in its 50th season of offering early music on period instruments to Long Island audiences, will present “A Golden Age, Early Baroque Music from Venice to Valencia,” in St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 30 Brooksite Drive in Smithtown at 7:30 p.m.on Saturday, Feb. 22, and in Christ Church at 61 East Main Street in Oyster Bay at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23.
The program will consist of works by composers such as Monteverdi, Corelli, Caccini, Duron, Nebra and others; performers include Margo Andrea, mezzo-soprano and director of the LIBE; Yuri Nankung, violin; Louise Schulman, violin and viola; John Mark Rosendaal, viola da gamba and Christina Patton, baroque harp.
