The allure of dinosaurs has captivated both young and old for generations. Even in today’s society of digital technology and virtual reality gaming, there is something about these creatures that mesmerizes us, even more so thanks to the Jurassic World franchise.

Produced by Feld Entertainment and NBCUniversal, Jurassic World Live Tour is based on the Jurassic World franchise with a storyline that takes place between in the time period between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. When a trip to Isla Nublar takes an unexpected turn after Indominus rex escapes and causes chaos in the park, a team of scientists must set things right. Madison Embrey portrays Dr. Kate Walker in the show and shared what makes this narrative so unique.

“The story follows the relationship that Kate and Jeanie, a brand new dinosaur have, and how Kate and a team of scientists must save her from a terrible fate,” said Embrey of the show’s premise, which also features nine of Jurassic World’s most iconic dinosaurs including Blue the Raptor, Triceratops, Pteranodons a baby Stegosaurus and, of course, the might T. rex.

Audiences will watch in awe as the arena transforms into the dense jungles of Isla Nublar, where real Gyrospheres roll through the valley, transporting them to an all-too-real mission to save Jeanie. The immersive journey is credited to a Hollywood studio quality production complete with more than 24 film-accurate, life-sized dinosaurs, each custom built with the latest technology and scientific precision, which Embrey says will only scratch the surface in terms of entertainment.

“Every detail is so specific and so well done—we have a 42-foot T. rex that is just magnificent—and it all stays so true to the brand,” she said. “It makes for such a seamless show that full engages the audience for a once in a lifetime experience.”

From excited 2-year-olds to full grown adults experiencing nostalgia, Jurassic World Live Tour is a show that everyone can relate to, especially those who grew up with the franchise. Kids will love following Jeanie’s story and meeting all the dinosaurs, many of which are so close to the audience on the ground floor it’s as if you’re back in the Jurassic period.

“It‘s hard to believe that something this huge and beautiful actually existed,” said Embrey. “I love working with our Stegosaurus. She comes out after a lot of action and her scene brings a sense of calmness to the production. And, she glows in the dark!” added Embrey of the bioluminescent jellyfish DNA that causes the dino to glow.

It was important to everyone involved that the production maintain the brand’s integrity, so working closely with Amblin Entertainment and NBCUniversal from the beginning was key. And, it seems, a huge success that paid off.

“People actually feel as though they are in the movie. There’s just no experience like Jurassic World Live Tour and if 10-year-old me had seen a show like this, it would have been really pivotal for me,” said Embrey. “It’s an amazing way for families to create memories that their children will remember for years to come.”
