Obituary: Martin J. Neville

Martin J. Neville of Manhasset, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Kerry Beth Neville of Milledgeville, Georgia, Erin Colello and her husband Jon of Plandome, NY, his son Colin Neville and his wife Leslie of NYC and his adored 8 grandchildren (Sophia, Alex, Meghan, Ryan, Maeve, Fiona, Luke and William). Marty attended St. Francis Prep HS (Brooklyn, NY), Fordham College and Fordham Law School. He served in the US Army as a 1st LT. JAG, was a partner in his NYC Law Firm (Neville, Peterson and Williams), a member of the American Legion POST 304 Manhasset, long time member of the Port Washington Yacht Club at which he actively participated in club events and in particular Trap Shooting. He enjoyed playing golf, building model planes, ships and trains, attending his grandchildren’s sporting games and events and travelling. Marty practiced law in the specialty area of trade regulation and product safety, liability and toxicology. He defended before the US Supreme Court and was the Legal Counsel for ACMI, The Art and Creative Materials Institute, having developed many policies, regulations and certifications for safe art products, including crayons. Marty and Sue were married for 52 years. He was a much beloved husband, father, grandpa and friend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:45 am on Friday, August 14, 2020, at the Church of St. Mary’s in Manhasset, NY. Private interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
