The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of a Farmingdale man for an incident that occurred in Farmingdale on Oct. 31 at 5:20 p.m.
According to detectives, 20-year-old Anthony Ayala attempted to enter Fabio’s Deli and Grocery at 499 Conklin St. A 26-year-old male manager denied him entry concerning past confrontations with two of his female employees, ages 52 and 21, both who have protective stay away orders involving him. After being told to leave, Ayala kicked the front door causing the glass to shatter. He then went to the rear of the store and kicked the door causing it to fall off its hinges.
walked outside and confronted another 28-year-old male employee, who was holding a pipe fearing for his safety. Ayala forcibly removed the pipe from his hand and began punching the victim in the chest as well as hitting him with the pipe in the abdomen causing a laceration and pain. Ayala fled the scene on foot.
Responding officers located Ayala a short distance away and attempted to place him into custody. After resisting arrest, Ayala was eventually placed into custody.
Ayala is charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, two counts of second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault and third-degree criminal mischief.
Ayala was arraigned on Nov. 1.
