Garden City HS Student Athletes Commit To College Sports

Twenty-three Garden City High School seniors were congratulated for their commitments to collegiate athletic programs during a recent ceremony. A small, socially distant outdoor gathering of administrators and parents celebrated the students.

Director of Athletics, Health and Physical Education Eamonn Flood coordinated the event and  praised the athletes for their dedication and commended parents for their support. Garden City High School Principal Kevin Steingruebner also greeted the students and families.

Students dressed in attire representing their future colleges and were applauded by their guests.

A total of 17 athletes are planning to play lacrosse next year. Pierce Archer will head to Franklin & Marshall College, Ryan Connolly will attend Skidmore College, Hugh Keenan has committed to the University of Tampa, Louis Griffin-Minuto will go to Muhlenberg College, Gerard O’Connor will attend Trinity College, Owen Quinn has committed to Skidmore College, and Drew Quinn and Robert Seel will both head to Vassar College. Olivia Escoffery has committed to the University of Chicago, Alexandra Hopkins will join Yale University’s team, Olivia Kavel will go to the College of the Holy Cross, Natalie Palmeri will head to Kent State University, Sydney Pappas has committed to Villanova University, Sophie Read will attend Hamilton College, Juliana Santel has committed to Marist College, Julia Sharp will go to the University of New Hampshire and Angelina Suau will head to Binghamton University.

Christopher Blum and Matthew Mohen will play baseball at St. Olaf College and American International College, respectively, and Nick Prime plans to play soccer at Bucknell University. Sarah Killcommons will join the field hockey team at Colgate University, and Lauren Kuzma and Katie Lew have committed to the swim teams at Binghamton University and Loyola University, respectively.
