We hope everyone is safe and healthy and would like to remind everyone to continue to practice social distancing, wear a mask/face covering, wash your hands and follow the guidelines from Governor Andrew Cuomo, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino, as well as the CDC and others. With the cold weather approaching and the holiday season upon us, it is vital to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and celebrate safely.
Please avoid gatherings so we can get through this, hopefully without moving back into business closures and stay-at-home directives. It is important to remain calm, vaccines are forthcoming—and thank you for helping, “we are in this together.”
Curran recently announced a Restaurant Recovery Grant Program (RRGP) to provide a boost for approximately 300 grants to restaurants during the difficult winter months ahead.
“Grant funds are valued at $5,000 or $10,000, depending on their number of employees,” the announcement stated. “The program is intended to support full-service restaurants, the industry hit hardest by the pandemic—during the winter months when outdoor dining is limited and as restaurants adjust to NY State’s COVID-19 safety restrictions and new mandates.”
Restaurants can learn more details, began applying on Nov. 30, and get updates to the RRGP: www.nassaucountyny.gov/, www.nassaucountyny.gov/restaurantrecovery”. Grants will be awarded to eligible restaurants in January 2021.”
Thanks again to Nassau County Comptroller Jack Schnirman for honoring Farmingdale Village with an Innovation Award Certificate of Recognition. We have been and continue to work with developers, business owners, residents, volunteers, organizations and others to continue to make Farmingdale a true destination village on Long Island and we salute our local businesses for their creativity and willingness to make adjustments during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We thank Mary of Schneider’s Farm for a great 2020 season with the market on the village green on Sundays and we look forward to the 2021 season. Also congratulations to Candice/Candy’s Jewelers, celebrating four years in Farmingdale Village. The family business has been operating for more than a century. Just a reminder to shop and dine local, support the local merchants.

We are so proud of our Daler Marching Band’s students and teachers who braved the cold and wind to record a holiday video, #Dalerpride.
As we begin to enjoy the traditions and events of the upcoming holiday season; we look forward to celebrations with friends, family and the community. This is the perfect time to reflect upon how fortunate we are. While many enjoy the seasonal festivities, there are others that are in need of assistance, food and support in our community and elsewhere.
