The pandemic has brought many new guidelines and restrictions to our retail and service establishments that serve and sell alcohol. To assist local businesses, YES Community Counseling Center (YESCCC) is hosting free TIPS Training, a skills-based training designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking. TIPS is supported by Farmingdale State College’s Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT), Levittown Community Action Coalition (LCAC), Massapequa Takes Action Coalition (MTAC), the Town of Hempstead, Town of Oyster Bay, and the Nassau County Police Department.

Businesses are invited to the innovative VIRTUAL training which seeks to enhance the fundamental “people skills” of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol. In addition, TIPS training can reduce exposure to alcohol liability lawsuits and reduce penalties for alcohol violations; lower insurance premiums; improve customer service and satisfaction; and promote community safety.
