Farmingdale’s Class of 2021 revisits their elementary schools for a final goodbye
As the Class of 2021 closes this chapter of their academic careers and begins a new one, one thing is certain to remain with them for a lifetime: the memories made during their tenure in the Farmingdale School District. On June 14, seniors took part in the traditional Senior Walk. Seniors donned their gowns and made their way to the elementary school they began their scholastic journey at, greeted by the teachers and students in the building who cheered for their incredible accomplishments.
“Our students are the heartbeat of this community and of the district,” said Superintendent of Schools Paul Defendini. “The Senior Walk is a wonderful event that allows our graduating seniors to reminisce on the wonderful memories they made during their time here and get our younger Dalers involved too. It truly is an example of the community we have cultivated in Farmingdale.”
The Senior Walk was started in the district five years ago and is part of an impressive list of events that take place at the culmination of each year to celebrate this milestone in the graduating students’ lives. The halls of Albany Avenue, Saltzman East Memorial, Northside, and Woodward Parkway came alive and were a sea of green and white as seniors made their way through the hallways. As students visited their favorite spots in the schools, their photos from when they were students at the elementary school adorned the walls and their former teachers welcomed them back with open arms. The day was filled with Daler pride, beaming grins and palpable excitement.
