Topgolf, a sports entertainment complex that blends golfing with technology-driven gaming, opened its first New York location in Holtsville on Friday, July 30.
The three-level venue features 102 outdoor, climate-controlled hitting bays, private event space, and a rooftop terrace with a firepit. Guests can reserve hitting bays for up to parties of six people and enjoy food and drink service as they play. Topgolf offers signature menu items, top-shelf drinks, music, and year-round programming for all ages.
“As a company focused on building roots, building strong community partnerships, and connecting people in meaningful ways, we are excited to expand the Topgolf experience to the great state of New York,” said Gen Gray, Topgolf’s chief operating officer for the global company’s U.S. venues. “Our new Holtsville venue will be a must-visit destination for the community and a great place for all ages to have fun.”

Town of Brookhaven officials joined Topgolf to celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 26.
The brand new site will employ about 500 people and is currently hiring for various positions, according to a news release from the company. The facility, located off the Long Island Expressway, also features more than 200 HDTVs, free WiFi, event, conference, and meeting rooms, a full-service restaurant, and bars. Parties larger than six can book a private party or rent out rooms.
Guests can choose from beginner, intermediate, and advanced hitting bays to play on. The high-tech golfing experience involves Topgolf’s own patented technology that allows players to track microchipped golf balls and “accurately score each shot based on the target it enters,” according to the Topgolf website.
No golfing experience is required to play, the website notes. The venue will also offer golf lessons and other programs year-round.
